It's getting hard to separate the saints from the satanic

from Lupe Fiasco – American Terrorist II Lyrics on Rap Genius

Meaning

Good and bad is a common theme throughout all of Lupe Fiasco’s work. In this one, a soldier in the beginning is viewed as both good and charismatic, where as later in the song (right now the 2nd verse) he’s non-caring. In Lupe Fiasco’s own words “We Champion Them” but in other worlds, they view American Soldiers as terrorists, people who cause harm. Which is ironically what we’re fighting. What’s to say that the saints(soldiers) aren’t satanic?(terrorists)

This can be read as a riff on:
“One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter”
