I'm but a mortal archer parked in amber waves of starlets
Aesop is alluding to and contrasting himself with the immortal archer, Cupid. Amber Waves of Starlets is a play on the phrase Amber Waves of Grain, and something of a non-sequitur, but it fancifully describes the multitude of young starlets surrounding Aesop. He laments his own mortal failings once again, as he can’t hit all of them.
