Drink beer with the guys
And chase after girls
I'd kick it with who I wanted
And I'd never get confronted for it
Cause they'd stick up for me
In these lines Bey is explaining society’s double standard about men and women; the idea that certain types of behavior are “normal” for men and not women. In society’s eyes, men are naturally prone to behaving more unruly and women are naturally more reserved. Based on this standard, a typical guy can drink with his pals and kick it with any girl he wants to and not be criticized for it, whereas if a woman did something similar she would be called a slut. No one would “stick up for her”.
