“living for the fame” is a key word especially tying back to the “video games” interpretation as the guy being a fame whore, playing it up to get paparazzi’s attention.

as with few of her songs there’s a reference to an older guy, possibly in the music/entertainment business that she adores or even worships. her song Lolita (about a young girl falling in love with a much older man) has a line that says: “I could be yours, I could be your baby tonight/ topple you down from your sky, 40 stories high/ shining like a god, can’t believe i caught you…”

another hint is the use of “swinging with the old stars”, she hangs around him while he hangs with his holder celeb cohorts.

plus in one of her interviews, she mentioned most of her songs are about the same guy. perhaps this song is also about him.
