The police racially profile Kendrick as a criminal while ignoring the fact that he’s trying to make something out of himself. They don’t believe that he just wants to be a good person and make it out of the hood because they fear that all black kids are dangerous gang members. And there is nothing that Kendrick can say or do that will change their mind on the subject.
Kendrick shares a view of the police with many people — that they chose the occupation to carry a gun and take out their violent frustrations on others.
