Them serpents lurking, blood
Bitches selling pussy, niggas selling drugs but it's all good

from Kendrick Lamar (Ft. Anna Wise & Jay Rock) – Money Trees Lyrics on Rap Genius

Meaning

In the Nickerson Gardens Projects, which is one of the biggest section 8 housing systems in America, the concentration of people are thugs, prostitutes, and drug dealers. This life was forced on them by our government. By saying “but it’s all good,” Jay portrays the idea that he has grown accustomed to these people being from the same neighborhood.

Serpents represent those who will “snake” on you. If you don’t keep those whom you roll with in check/ keep your circle small (grass cut), there are bound to be snakes lurking. One of the gangs that originated in the Nickerson Gardens was the Bounty Hunter BLOODS.

Them serpents lurking could be a play on words referring to the garden of Eden and the story of Adam and Eve in the book of Genesis; implying that serpents are also in his place temping people.
