"Where your grandma stay, huh, my nigga?"
"This m.A.A.d city I run, my nigga"
from Kendrick Lamar (Ft. MC Eiht) – M.A.A.d City Lyrics on Rap Genius
Reference to the “Poetic Justice” skit where Kendrick was pulled over by 2 guys in hoodies one night in his van while going to see Sherane. That skit starts in “Sherane a.k.a. Master Splinter’s Daughter.”
They explicity say
“Where your grandma stay, huh my nigga?”
But in the context of this track, no where else in the album is
“This m.A.A.d city I run my nigga”
The attitude of every thug in Compton, thus leading to the reality that no one actually runs it, and emphasizing how stupid the idea is of running the city, which I think is Kendrick’s real intention; to give a satirical view at a thug’s mindset.
