I ain't a Madd Rapper
Just an emcee with a temper

from Kanye West (Ft. Common & Talib Kweli) – Get Em High Lyrics on Rap Genius

Meaning

The Madd Rapper was a character invented by Puffy’s Bad Boy Entertainment to satirize rappers who complained about Bad Boy’s (and in particular Biggie’s) pop-inflected songs and mindless commercialism. The point of the satire was that those complaining about the direction that Bad Boy was taking hip-hop were just jealous “haters”, not worth paying attention to. In the middle of a verse where he calls out subpar emcees, Common acknowledges that he can be understood to be “hating.”
