The harsh reality is that many of them have no choice. They have to do what they have to do in order to survive. .
For poor kids living in the ghetto, Little Caesar’s is the best and most affordable way to feed they fam until they make it (only $5 for a pepperoni or cheese pizza!). They need to resort to pulling guns out to sustain their family and by extension community. .
This line plays on that pizza is a favorite for many children so it serves as an incentive for doing the things they do. The metaphor is comparing that to an adults material pursuits of wealth and power. They will attain that by the same means as chasing the pizza. .
