I am just myself, AKA: my worst enemy
He’s referring to how most African-American males act like thugs even though they’re actually pretending. He doesn’t conform to that and just acts like himself, which is self-destructive whenever he finds himself attractive to an African-American woman.
There is also an implied self-loathing in these lines—another pitfall for the young black male.
