Training other white hat users to annotate at a higher level
Training all our non Editor and Moderator users is of the utmost importance. As an Editor this is one of your primary goals!
HOW TO TRAIN SOMEONE:
Step 1: Go through some of their annotations. Accept, edit, reject etc.
Step 2: Send them a friendly message. Included in that message should be the following:
What they did well
What they need to work on
How to work on what’s lacking
Give them an example of their OWN work where you show them how easy it is to make dope annotations themselves
Tell them not to hesitate to ask you any questions in the future.
Send the appropriate links located in this section. That can also assist them. Links include:
- Contributor Guidelines — beginner’s guide for annotating techniques.
- Grammar Glossary — great source to expand on descriptions of lyrics and poetry.
- Coaching Gifs — visual demonstrations for how to improve an annotation.
Step 3: Watch their account, continue to assist them and eventually you should be able to ask a Mod to Editor them if you’ve done your job correctly!
