Satan jigs the planet, not to get too religious, but
Who decides when and if your life is finished?
If Christ is in this, for the sake of your name, oh Lord
May we break away from the chains abroad
Like Nas was saying previously, evil weakens all of our spirits, and why should it be in their hands (or anyone’s hands) to decide when you die. Nas also notes that he doesn’t want to alienate the listener with religious themes, but he feels this is an important topic.
Addressing Christ, Nas begs for us to be freed from the shackles of oppression. (Not just racial, but the oppression of the “evil ones” as well) These lines demonstrate the classic theme of good vs. evil and God vs. Satan.
