This is a reference to the fiction of Josh Cohen (Witz, Four New Messages), who can come if he wants. He uses convoluted sentence structures with a lot of backtracking, even changing characters' names mid-sentence. There are usually a lot of italics. Kind of Yiddish rhythms, really, which I cannot do as a Catholic.
