The interlude between the second and third verses depicts Em committing a bank robbery as the hook repeats in the background. Despite being warned not to kill anyone by his getaway driver (voiced by Dre’s buddy Mel-Man) and being begged by the teller, Shady shoots her after he gets the money, then he thanks her as he runs out.
Em has said that Mel-Man was so drunk during recording sessions that it took a dozen takes for him to lay down his lines.
The joke is that, in the COMPLETELY FICTIONAL skit, he says he won’t kill the bank teller, but he shoots her… but in real life… he says that he’ll kill people… but HE NEVER DOES. He even says this in Toy Soldiers: “That was never my intention for someone to get killed; why would I wanna destroy something I helped build?”
On the Marshall Mathers LP 2 (released 2013), This Skit is continued on Track 2 (Parking Lot).
