Sorry y'all, I don't agree with y'all parents
Jay is playing on the similarly sounding words “parents” and “appearance,” which has led to some debate about which he actually says here. “Parents” serve as an implication that he doesn’t agree with the Cuban embargo, which dates back to our parents' generation.
Jay publicly supported president Obama in his campaigns, this kind of gesture might get votes from undecided fans for X candidate. So as you can assume many other politicians would like to have Mr. Carter on their side, but he doesn’t agree with most of them, their appearance (which looks ridiculous to him in a way, just as the whole politics does.
I don’t even like the word politics. It implies something underhanded and I think we need less government.
