Rap critics that say he's Money, Cash, Hoes
Jay here uses the title of his 1998 song “Money, Cash, Hoes” as a kind of shorthand for the idea that he raps only about his wealth, women, jewels, etc.
He dismisses this idea in the next few lines, and has done so repeatedly over his career, most famously in these lines from his song “Renegade” (Jay raps about other stuff too! That’s why the original title of the song was going to be: “Money, Cash, Hoes, Bees, Trees, Planes, Trains and Automobiles”)
