We chasin after death just to call ourselves brave
But everyday, next man meet with the grave/Great
This line can have two different meanings due to the last word of the bars sounds like two different words:
The interpretation of the bars with the last word of grave means: Niggas claim they’re “hard”, or “gangsta” all the time, and love to prove it. They SEEK danger and confrontation for some bullshit reputation, not caring about who they kill, or if they die.
The interpretation for Great being the last word of the bars means: Mos is telling us that we’re all going to end up being judged by God; We have to be careful about our actions. Great fits in nicely with these two bars because it comes right after he talks about his personal behavior, and comes right before he says the line, “I’m trying to live life in the sight of God’s memory”.
