C'est la vie
French for “That’s life.” “Fuck it” and “c'est la vie” harbor the same sentiment but come from two different cultures. In that way, the line recalls “Niggas in Paris”
He is criticizing how black society will always settle for less if there’s money and incentives involved, if they can benefit their own ego from it.
Since he already utters “Fuck it,” C'est la vie could be indicating a further reference. Chuck Berry’s “You Never Can Tell,” more commonly known as “C'est La Vie,” is one of the best known of modern songs and was written while serving time for an alleged sex crime. He insisted that it was a wrongful and racially-prejudiced imprisonment. This reference would tie in many different lines from this song, like “I know that pussy ain’t free,” “They tryna lock niggas up,”, and his allusion to the Black Brute stereotype later in this song.
