Fuck you and your corporation
Y'all niggas can't control me
Kanye’s rebelling against attempts to control him, a major theme on Yeezus, with a fashion designer’s attempts to control him inspiring a whole song.
Big corporations (typically run by rich white folks) to a certain degree control almost every aspect of our lives. It’s hard to escape businesses that are “too big to fail”, whether it be through the lack of choice in buying different products (they usually own all the “competition) or these corporations holding considerable influence in government (see Monsanto).
Prince has had similar issues with corporations
See Kanye’s February 2013 bitter, sarcastic on-stage rant about corporate sponsorship:
Can I sell a drink for you please? So you can help me put on a better show. Please corporations. Can you please support me, Kanye West? I swear I’m a nice nigga now. I swear I’ll put the pink polo back on. I swear to you. Please? Just for three million dollars. I need it so bad. I need a new pool in my back yard. So I’ll tell all my fans your shit is cool. And if they believe in me they should also believe in you. … What’s my public rating now? Are people liking me again? Enough to get some money for some corporations? They forgot about the whole Beyonce thing right? Okay cool
