It's time to wake up the dead
You sound a little naive in them articles that I read

from Jay-Z – Blueprint 2 Lyrics on Rap Genius

Meaning

A further reference to the Rosie Perez comments in XXL and VIBE magazines, criticizing Jay for his frequent use of the word ‘bitch’ and his misogynistic tones.

Jay would further vent his frustration at this on the track Bitches & Sisters.

He is effectively calling Rosie Perez and those of like-mind brain dead. He attempts to bring life into their minds by educating them throughout the remainder of the song. ‘waking up the dead’ is to bring up ignored/hidden/forgotten truths and this is one of the reasons he brought the ‘flutes’ — to wake people up, well and cure some naivety(confusion) as well. A cleverly hidden gem of a shot at the casual listener.. Jay says don’t skim through his music
