When a real nigga hold you down, you supposed to drown
Bound...

from Kanye West (Ft. Charlie Wilson) – Bound 2 Lyrics on Rap Genius

Meaning

Kanye has not always been most enthusiastic supporter of monogamy, so the idea of being bound (as in kids, even marriage) is one he struggles with throughout the song. Ye plays with all the different meanings of this word and tries to figure out how it meshes with him and his history. It’s almost as though he’s trying to warm himself up to the concept of being “bound” to Kim. Bound to Ye is being forcibly affixed to something. While that’s normally negative, here it takes on a positive, even sexual context (think bonding, whips and chains).

This may be why lyrics about thirsty girls in the club, which would normally be rapped over a hard, aggressive beat, are rapped over such a nostalgic background. This old sample sets these stories up like they were beautiful memories of bachelorhood
