I crash through glass ceilings, I break through closed doors
A glass ceiling is an unseen, yet unbreakable barrier keeping minorities from rising to the upper echelons of society.
Jay-Z, a black man from Brooklyn, is smashing such glasses and he is breaking through many doors which were historically closed off to a man of his background, he’s now taking part in meetings in which blacks wouldn’t be allowed in the past.
Also a reference to RUN DMC’s line in King of Rock
Now we crash through walls, cut through floors
Bust through ceilings and knock down doors
