Cent'anni, ciao bella
“Cent'anni” is a traditional Italian toast meaning “health for 100 years”, (“cento” meaning “hundred” and “anno” meaning “year”) and “ciao bella” is an Italian greeting towards a woman, “Hi beautiful”. In case you couldn’t tell, Jay is mad cultured.
The way that Jay Z pronounces cent'anni (and even spells it, on the lyrics sheet at right), is “Chin Don,” making a possible reference to deceased mobster Vincent “Chin” Gigante, who was, as it happens, a Don.
