1 oz. Gin or Cognac

.5 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice

.5 oz. Simple Syrup

2 oz. Champagne

Garnish: Lemon Twist
Glass: Flute
Tools: Cocktail Shaker, Hawthorne Strainer

Combine all ingredients, except champagne, in a cocktail shaker and add ice. Shake until ingredients are completely mixed and chilled but not over diluted. Strain into a flute and top with champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist.
