My hair had grew long on my seven year stay
And when I got it done on my shoulders it lay
This song consists of a long series of rhyming couplets — the same poetic structure used by Chaucer in The Canterbury Tales. This couplet is perhaps the lamest one in the whole song — Ice-T inverted the natural word order (“It lay on my shoulders” becomes “On my shoulders, it lay”) in order to make the couplet rhyme.
I challenge you to find a well-known rap song with worse flow.
