I've been up for four days, getting money both ways
Dirty and clean,
Drake both gets money legally, touring and being a rapper, and illegally, hiding money from the Feds and laundering it. While it’s been reported that Drake can make up to $150,000 a show, not all of the money that he keeps is being declared through his income tax to the IRS, thus making it “dirty” money. Note, that Drake and other high profile artists get paid simply to show up or perform at clubs. Do you think Drake would declare a duffel bag full of cash on to the IRS? No, you probably wouldn’t either.
He could also be referring to the fact that he has been awake (grinding) for four days, getting money while he has been both physically dirty and clean. He is so focused on grinding that he has yet to take a shower in four days.
Dirty money also refers to drug money, something Drake seems less inclined to have.
Although, to be fair, it’s more than likely that he’s just stunting on the track, trying to present the “thug” image that we saw more of later on on tracks like Headlines.
