You called me a black Beatle, I'm either that or a Marley

from Big Sean (Ft. Jay Electronica & Kendrick Lamar) – Control Lyrics on Rap Genius

Meaning

The Beatles and Bob Marley are widely considered to be legendary musicians and Kendrick thinks he’s similarly talented.

A similar line is made by Kanye in “Gorgeous,” where Ye talks about the social stigmas surrounding blacks, asking how much someone legendary as The Beatles would be viewed if they were black.

Bob Marley also spurred major social and political change through music and his belief in Rastafarianism in Jamaica and other Caribbean islands, and is considered a national hero. Drake has also compared himself to Marley.

Kendrick has made a similar comparison before in the remix version of “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe.”
