Little life, little lie, oh yea
Kind of reminiscent of some lyrics from Echoes of Silence. Could be interpreted in at least two ways:
Aside from Kiss Land, Abel hadn’t released any music since Trilogy before this. So, while we wait for the new album to release, our lives are essentially little (i.e. boring, with a worthless feeling as we can’t indulge in any new music from The Weeknd).
In reference to the girl he discusses in this song, she probably doesn’t have much of a life aside from Abel. Could be a heavy clubber who has nothing else to do, maybe jobless, etc. The kick she get’s out of “playing” with Abel makes her life not seem worthless to a degree where she could possibly feel on top of the world as Abel questions in a previous line. However, by using the word “love” a few lines back followed by “lie” in this line, he further emphasizes the point that he doesn’t want these girls/groupies.
