Enough to drive a man insane, I need a license to kill
The devil has messed so much with Kendrick’s mind that he becomes a killer.
Also, uses nice wordplay on “drive” and “license”.
He is literally describing the fear he experiences from these demonic entities he encounters in the music industry. This kind of shit is enough to “drive a man insane.” Take a look at Dave Chappelle, MJ, Britney Spears. People who have snapped and the media portrays them as “crazy” and “on drugs.”
It may also be a reference to the 1989 Bond movie, License to Kill, in which Bond goes out without MI6’s blessing to seek revenge on a man who seriously maimed (as in fed to sharks) his best friend.
