Bout to go ham, ya bish, shout out to Kendrick
Em’s going H.A.M.—the acronym for “Hard As a Motherfucker”.
“Ya bish” is a phrase coined by fellow Aftermath member, Kendrick Lamar on his track “Money Trees”. The phrase can take on a variety of meanings, depending on the context—you can read about it here. The term “HAM” was also used repeatedly by Kendrick on his song “Sex With Society.”
Kendrick recently shouted out to Em as one of the best MCs when he went HAM on his verse of Big Sean’s “Control.” Em’s paying his respects back, even featuring Kendrick on MMLP2’s “Love Game”. Kendrick also appears in the “Berserk” music video at this point.
Em also drops a bit of culinary wordplay on this one with “‘bout to go ham” following “that’s my pigment” in the previous line.
