A junkie walking through the twilight
I'm on my way home
Heron is metaphorically walking through the “twilight” which literally is a state between darkness and light, which should be taken the same way figuratively. He’s saying here that he is unsure of his state in this world, him being an addict off of crack cocaine, as well as heroin.
AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL — Heron was addicted to crack cocaine until his death in 2011, aged 62 (RIP)
