Uh, last night was mad trill
I'm fresh out of Advil, Jesus grab the wheel
This is a reference to these Kanye lines from “No Church in the Wild”
Here Jay depicts himself after a night of drinking and partying, so he needs the Advil to help him focus. As he slowly starts to feel the effects of his hangover creep back, he relies on Jesus (or religion) to take the wheel and ultimately save his life. This is interesting considering he decided to borrow a line from a song called “No Church in the Wild,” so maybe Jay wants to get back in touch with his religion. He made a similar line about driving and God on his most recent album.
This is kind of a sequel to “Empire State of Mind”’s “Jesus can’t save you, life starts when the church ends,” where, now that “life” (partying) is over, Jay’s ready to go back to church.
