Now who thinks their arms are long enough to slapbox, slapbox
“You Arms Are Too Short To Box With God”
This is actually a phrase started by famous author, Jame’s Weldon Johnson, from his poem The Prodigal Song, which is a biblical parable, later turned into a musical.
Your arm’s too short to box with God.
Many artists have referenced this line in their songs, such as Lakim Shabazz with his song of the same name, Xzibit in “Bitch Please II” (off of the first Marshall Mathers LP), Nas in “You’re Da Man”, Black Star in “Thieves in the Night” and many more.
