Throw on "Lose Yourself" and make 'em lose it

from Eminem – Rap God Lyrics on Rap Genius

A reference to his 2002 single, ‘Lose Yourself’ from the soundtrack to his semi-autobiographical feature film 8 Mile

He is refuting the suggestion that he’s Pop. He clearly can throw out hip-hop and “Lose Yourself” is a prime example with it’s Rock twist.

Lose Yourself is also one of the most notoriously famous rap songs ever, being the first rap song to win an Oscar, thus cause the other contenders to lose it (the award). However, losing it more obviously refers to the mood that partygoers adopt to let loose as well as one of Em’s most infamous songs, Just Lose It.
