“The Golden Child” is one of Nas' nicknames, insinuates that he is specially chosen, perhaps by God, to bring truth to the world through hip-hop, and perhaps other forms of media, like in his role in “Belly”. He goes on to say that he’ll chop your ass up, as in, he’ll shoot you several times, if you’re holding out, or not revealing information/telling the truth. This line makes more sense after he completes the whole verse. Since, in the next line, Nas establishes that this song/his verses are a court, he is here installing the penalty of him shooting you to death for those who don’t tell the truth, or withhold information from the general public, as a witness who gives false testimony in the court of law would be subject to the charge of perjury and the jail time/fines that go along with it. He is really referring to those who write the history taught in school textbooks, which he views as false, and those who further this view of the world by adhering to established power structures and telling lies, such as police, snitches, sell-outs, mass corporations, etc. do. The “Golden Child” reference also suggests that he (Nas) has been chosen by God to bring God’s penalty (death at Nas' hands) to these perjurers (liars) in a court of the street that is equated with the court of God Himself. You might say, jeez, that’s a little extreme, but keep in mind that Nas is using complicated, and sometimes purposefully extreme metaphors to prove a point to the listener.
