Clever wordplay here. Eminem piling his cart with items from the style department in K-Mart is a metaphor for the many different styles he brings to the mic as a rapper. There’s the over-the-top horror-core on tracks like “Kill You”, intricate storytelling like on “Murder, Murder”, upbeat and carefree celebrity bashing on “The Real Slim Shady”, but also serious attempts to deal with fame like on “Sing for the Moment”. His ability to switch styles and bring something new to the mic every time is part of the reason he’s been able to maintain his success this long.
