Any problem I got I just put my fist in
My life is violent but violent is life
Peace is a dream, reality is a knife
Life isn’t a beautiful as it seems, there are bad things too, and those things ain’t going to solve themselves
Here, Ice-T puts together what’s called a ‘chiasmus’, which refers to the structure of the sentence. “My life is violent, but violent is life” = noun — adjective, adjective — noun. Ancient poets have used this figure of speech too.
With “Peace is a dream, reality is a knife” Ice illustrates the contrast between dream and reality even more by putting the words next to eachother. It’s all very subtle, but it’s also intentional.
