Living with the Whites, one big house
And not another nigga in sight
Ice Cube is continuing the “Straight Outta Compton” reference, although in this case instead of bringing the gangsta aesthetic to the world, he is saying that the members of N.W.A are selling out and moving out of the neighbourhood! This is undoubtedly a reference to Gerald E. “Jerry” Heller (Jerry Heller), Eazy-E’s white business partner who became N.W.A’s manager (precipitating Ice Cube’s conflict with the rest of the group)
While making this reference he compares them to “house niggers” — slaves who would work within the plantation household, and were thus considered Uncle Toms (sellouts to their race) in the eyes of the “field niggers”.
