We walk the same path, but got on different shoes
Live in the same building, but we got different views
Drake is alienated from both the rich and the poor — the poor will never experience his rise to stardom, while the rich will never experience his struggle (although Drake’s main struggle in life has been marketing, but whatever…)
For those that don’t know, the first line is an alternative take on the saying “walk in [a mile] my shoes” meaning to see things from my perspective, which in Drakes case happens to be more comfortable and luxurious.
Shoes represent the possessions of poverty, whereas a scenic view, like that from a penthouse suite, is symbolic of wealth. Also, Drake most likely has on Red Wing Boots while you have on Uggs for Men.
The second line, in a literal sense compares the views of Drake, as a rich man who would be likely living in top floor apartment with a, and the average or worse off man, who lives at the bottom facing a back alley. Figuratively, even though you live in the same place similar level of economic status, your views on life are drastically different.
