Genius Annotation

Originally released as the B-Side on the Holiday in Cambodia single in 1980 and later re-released on some versions of Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables and, finally, on the 1987 Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death compilation album. This song puts the listener in the perspective of a corrupt cop and his fellow officer as they plan and brag about their graveyard shift activities.

This song was inspired by an incident in Oakland in the late ‘70s in which two police officers were caught drinking on the job, harassing drunks, and raping prostitutes while also functioning as a blanket attack on police corruption and brutality.
