Going up, now we living to die
Essentially our culture has detached us from our nature and taught us just to live to fight and die.
When you are a child, the whole world is new and enthusiasm and curiosity are abundant. Death seems like an impossibility, at least, your death. But when the reality of adulthood sets in, life is lived in expectation of death. This fact leads to things like the midlife crisis where identify is lost, searched for, and hopefully regained at the expense of the quality of lives of any attachements made.
