Fuck you squares, the circle got smaller
Jay calls out all his enemies and past cohorts who left him by calling them squares (slang for lame or not thinking outside of the box) and saying that his “circle of friends and affiliates got much smaller. Then in the next line he says the smaller his circle got the larger his career (his castle) got and how it became more difficult to dethrone him as he had more defenses (the walls).
It’s also a classic play on the “square peg, round hole” dilemma.
