Candy coated refers to bubble gum rappers, poppy and without substance. The minstrels from the previous line are likely the biters that Aesop can identify. Although, a minstrel is simply a bard, a minstrel show was an offensive variety show of sorts that featured white people in black face. Their “bully cycle” could be the popularity of dis songs or just that “Fuck you! I’m the best!” feeling that is prevalent in hip hop. The bullying is civil because it’s easy to see past to its most basic elements, the pixels. We should be gracious that these candy coated rappers make it so easy to see past their nonsense

In his song Reintroducing, Eyedea (R.I.P.) uses similar terminology with the lines “Your candy-coated condom-flavored karaoke cover songs are no longer accepted so I suggest you exit!”
