Cause when I was in school I got the A.E.E
A.E.E. is the designation for a perfect grade. In elementary schools especially within the Los Angeles Unified School District, the letters A.E.E. were the highest marks a student could receive. The A is the highest letter grade. The E stands for excellent. There were three categories under which students were evaluated — the overall grade for achievement, effort, and participation. The letter grades were A, B, C, D, and F. The grades for effort and participation were E, S, and U, which stood for excellent, satisfactory, and unsatisfactory, respectively.
In this verse, Ice Cube is saying the applicant did well in school. However, because the applicant hasn’t attended a big name university, he doesn’t get the job. The verse is more likely: “but there’s no S.C. (aka University of Southern Califronia, USC) for this youngsta”. The University of Southern California, USC, is also called “SC” for short.
