Yes please, test me, Nestle chocolate mix con leche
Isabelle Allende, no comprender?
Victor starts by spitting stuff related to Spain:
Café con leche is Spanish for “coffee with milk.” Swapping out the coffee for Nestlé chocolate mix perhaps suggests the line is, in classic DR fashion, race related (white v black). As Victor is Afro-Cuban he can be viewed as somewhere in between, as when milk spreads through chocolate cereal. Or maybe it’s to do with their seeming slacker attitude, in that they eat more cereal than they do coffee.
Isabelle Allende is a widely recognized Chilean writer, who writes her books in Spanish.
“No comprender?” would translate to “do you not understand?”
