He said, "You know, turn to Matthew 24"
He said, "No one knows the hour, nor do they know the day
But the kingdom is near; don't let anything lead you astray
As long as God is with me, everything will be okay"
Matthew 24:36 is the closest verse to the one stated here. It reads:
No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
The man’s reasoning for turning himself in is that he wants to go to heaven which obviously requires doing the right thing. He is hopeful that God will show mercy to him. He is also comforting Common with the fact that we all go someday.
