I know I’m preaching to the congregation
A play on the idiom “preaching to the choir” which means trying to convince a person or group of a belief that they already believe in. Kanye tells everyone how beautiful this girl is, but realizes that they can see for themselves and he is telling them something they already know. He also implies that most of the people admiring this “sinsational” girl are Christians themselves. The question is should the girl be put at fault for tempting those who should oppose sin, or is she really that good looking that even those who do can’t look away?
Kanye’s version actually makes more sense, since actual preachers do their preaching to the congregation and not (directly) to the choir. Half of the choir are just there for the singing practice anyway
