1763, the first demonic tactic of biological warfare
As tokens of peace, Sir Jeffery Amherst
Passed out clothing and blankets to the Indian community
Infested with small pox, knowing they had no immunity
Biological warfare, this killed thousands and thousands of Native people.
General Jeffrey Amherst in 1763, for which Amherst Massachusetts is named, called to “extirpate this execrable race” by handing out blankets infected with smallpox. A smallpox epidemic duly took hold amongst the tribes. Mortality was very high. Some tribal groups virtually vanished, and the rest suffered severe population losses. The virus did a very thorough job in breaking the rebellion.
