The bottom of the stove is where you can place slices of bread for toast if you don’t have a toaster

“toast” = slang for gun
– the line prior to this one speaks of a “Hallway full of R.I.P.’s” which connects directly to the gun reference. Oftentimes, guns get passed around and sold on the black market, so it’s pretty difficult to figure out where they came from originally (“None of us know the makers of the toast”)
– The next line plays off of that idea with a simile, “Like the bottom of the stove” — toast gets pretty personal with the “bottom of the stove (toaster, etc…)” so it’s hard to find someone who knows toast as well as the bottom of the stove…
