His “old girls” aren’t accustomed to his new life style. Contrary to what most people would think, they don’t like the attention that fame brings.

He’s the new guy in fame and superstardom, and when he throws parties his old females that he used to mess with think he’s changed, thus looking at him in disgust.

He’s saying they pay him to party something that most people do, so you should see that as a plus and not negative.

If Drake didn’t decide to give up acting on Degrassi and pursue his music career, he could’ve been a successful actor.

Despite him ditching his family to return to living the street life, Drake doesn’t hold anything against his father, the bond that a father and son share is virtually unbreakable.

Drake’s father never thought that he’d be back in the street life. And since he left his wife, he has to look for his old exes to keep him company (or mooch off of).

Tying in with the previous line, Drake’s father was tired of not having a lot of expendable cash, causing him to leave home and get back in the drug game. However, he can’t ignore the fact that his son (Drake) and wife are going to miss him.

Lupe’s character is reassuring MYH some more, even thought the exact opposite of what he’s telling him is true.

"You'll starve but never die in a world of hungry ghosts" (Lupe Fiasco – Unforgivable Youth) | rejected

Lupe is basically just saying that in capitalist consumption-based society such as the United States, people have a constant, insatiable desire nearly equivalent to that of physical starvation. However, this desire is irrational, because we have enough to sustain ourselves and “never die”. “Hungry Ghosts” is most likely a reference to the Buddhist concept of spiritual hunger that can never be filled, but also highlights the near mindlessness of consumerism.

"Too many posers tryin' to ride my boa-constrict" (Domo Genesis – Hcapd) | accepted

I’m pretty sure Hodgy says “too many posers tryin' to ride my boa-con-strict” meaning that people are acting like him

"They take the greats from the past and compare us" (Drake – Lord Knows) | rejected

Drake’s just saying that people always compare hip-hop legends to current artists, much like in any profession.

Eventually, Drake’s father decided to leave him and his mother and go back to Memphis and sell drugs, just as he did before settling down.

"And I'm schemin' on dome and peacin'" (Domo Genesis & Alchemist – Gamebreaker) | rejected

This ties in with the previous line. This “Ho that’s decent” is looking for a guy to hug and cuddle (boyfriend type stuff). Earl capitalizes on her naivety and just wants to get some head and get out.

"Bunch of underground kings" (Drake – Cameras) | rejected

A continuation of the previous royalty/crown metaphor

"The scientist say it only affects the mind / The little b..." (Lupe Fiasco – Streets on Fire) | accepted

This is a reference to how AIDS/HIV was viewed during the scare in the 80s. Back then, people had all kinds of ignorant theories like only gays/blacks/etc could get it. Some people also thought that it was “Gods punishment” or something of the nature (i.e. the “preacher man” saying it would kill off the soul)

"Everybody's got it and want you to have it next and / Don..." (Lupe Fiasco – Streets on Fire) | accepted

The disease is The Streets and in these lines, Lupe is saying that in an area where everyone is hood (infected by the Streets) they want you to be just like them. They pressure you to join gangs, commit crimes, etc. The only way to avoid becoming infected is to disassociate yourself with people who’re already infected.

It should be noted that this song was originally just Drake’s verse. After he released it, the other people hopped on, because they side with Drake and also think that Aristo’s a bitch.

"That's why I see no need to compete with niggas like y’all" (Rick Ross – Stay Schemin') | rejected

Drake usually isn’t one to respond to disses or get in competition with other artists.
